So, this is basically my attempt to take a bunch of stuff that DC did -- leading up to and even, in places, within "Infinite Crisis" -- and doing something with it that I think is more interesting than Yet Another Editorial Retcon Ratscrew. I count this story as How Things Went in alec_holland's universe, which explains his involvement.

( Corrigan, Pt. 1 )

This is primarily for hawk_shay, but also for anyone interested in what's what, both in what is/isn't said in the comics and what I've formulated from that, where the nature of elementals and the elements are concerned. Much of the material here was planned for the initially-planned "Swamp Things" entries, but screw it; hopefully I can make this comprehensible on its own. The size of the info-dump is mighty, though, so behold the lj-cut...

Whoever the Spectre answers to totally needs to take him in hand and giving him a talking to for this whole "listen to crazy Jean Loring Eclipso thing and declare war on magic" thing. I hate having to spend so much of my time minimizing his damage, up to and including (ab?)using the fact that he has no jurisdiction over Elemental matters to shield my family and whoever else I find needs it. I mean, I'm protecting Anton Arcane. Yeah, sure, technically, he's a damned soul turned demon, but he's been reformed for years now. Back off, Spectre. Never mind that you're not supposed to be running around on Earth without a host soul. WTF.
